Terms of Use

Plain summary

These Terms govern your use of Glasslab’s websites and apps, including glasslab.app and Glass Chart (charts.glasslab.app), and other Glasslab products we launch under the same brand. By using them, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Glass Chart shows educational market glances. It is not a broker, exchange, or investment advisor. Nothing on Glasslab properties is financial advice.

1. Who we are

Glasslab (“we”, “us”) is an independent studio in Canada. Contact: hello@glasslab.app.

Glasslab is not endorsed by Meta Platforms, EssilorLuxottica, Ray-Ban, Stripe, or Google. Those names and marks belong to their owners.

2. What these Terms cover

If you do not agree, do not use the sites or apps.

3. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age required there (and at least 13). Product apps that require an account are intended for personal, non-enterprise use unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. Accounts & sign-in

Some features require an account. We use shared Glasslab identity (Firebase Authentication) with email magic link and/or Google sign-in.

You are responsible for:

• The accuracy of the email you use
• Activity under your account
• Keeping access to your email / Google account secure

Magic-link emails may come from noreply@glasslab.app or related Glasslab addresses. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or violate these Terms.

5. Plans, trials & billing

Glasslab products may offer free and paid tiers (for example Free Basic, free Pro via email, and paid plans such as Pro+). Plan names and prices can change.

• Paid plans are billed through Stripe.
• Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly say otherwise.
• You can manage or cancel renewals through the in-app billing portal when available, or by contacting hello@glasslab.app.
• Taxes may apply based on your location and Stripe’s collection settings.

If payment fails, we may downgrade or suspend paid features until billing is current.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law or others’ rights
• Probe, scrape, or overload our systems beyond normal interactive use
• Bypass plan limits, auth, or payment
• Reverse engineer except where mandatory law allows
• Misrepresent Glasslab as affiliated with Meta or as a licensed financial institution
• Upload malware or abusive content
• Use the apps to provide regulated investment advice to others without appropriate licences (we do not provide that licence)

We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access for abuse or risk to the service.

7. Glass Chart — important product terms

• Educational glances only. Prices, candles, indicators, and layouts are for personal informational / UX glance use on Display glasses and companion surfaces.
• Not financial advice. Do not make trading or investment decisions solely based on Glass Chart.
• Not a trading platform. We do not execute orders, hold funds, or connect to your broker as a broker-dealer.
• Data may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Market data providers and our pipelines can fail. Always verify with authoritative sources before acting.
• Availability. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, especially during early / soft launch.

8. Display glasses & third-party platforms

Glasslab apps are designed for Meta Ray-Ban Display Web Apps and similar wearable browsers where supported. Meta’s hardware, OS, and policies can change; enablement steps may vary. We are not responsible for Meta app store rules, glasses firmware, or Device Access requirements outside our web apps.

Using Google sign-in, Stripe Checkout, or other third-party services is also subject to those providers’ terms.

9. Intellectual property

Glasslab branding (including the Optical Bench visual system, wordmark, and site/app UI), software, and content we publish are owned by Glasslab or our licensors. You get a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the services for their intended personal purpose.

You may not copy, resell, or redistribute our apps or brand assets except as allowed by these Terms or written permission.

Feedback you send us may be used to improve Glasslab without obligation to you.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy (https://glasslab.app/privacy) explains what we collect and how we use it. By using the services, you acknowledge that policy.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MARKET DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR TIMELY, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those places, disclaimers apply to the fullest extent allowed.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLASSLAB AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR TRADING LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE RELEVANT PRODUCT IN THAT PERIOD, OR (B) CAD $50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including certain consumer protections in Canada where they apply).

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Glasslab against claims arising from your misuse of the services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights — except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

14. Changes & soft launch

We may change the services or these Terms. For material Terms changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may notify account holders by email or in-app when practical. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

During soft launch / early access, features may be incomplete, greyed, or experimental (including paid tiers that are display-only until we open them).

15. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, create risk, or if we discontinue a product. Provisions that should survive (IP, disclaimers, limits, indemnity) survive termination.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you other rights.

17. General

If a section is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement for the services they cover, unless we sign a separate written agreement with you. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale.
